Scarborough Beach features all the amenities desirable for a pleasant day at the coast: a half-mile stretch of scenic sand and water, an observation tower offering breathtaking views, boardwalks aplenty and warm saltwater swimming with lifeguards on duty. It is the state's most popular beach, visited by thousands annually. It occupies 26 acres of land along the Rhode Island Sound, 35 miles south of Providence.
