Roger W. Wheeler State Beach is a pleasant, waterfront recreation area offering a well-maintained beach, swimming, picnic areas and lifeguards. The object of a major renovation in 1996, the park features a state-of-the-art bathhouse and pavilion with coin-operated hot showers, a playground and a concession area. The park occupies nearly 30 acres along the Block Island Sound, just south of the Fishermen's Memorial State Park.
